YouTube Video Optimization

No matter what end goal you have in mind, a lot of people want their YouTube Videos viewed as much as possible. Or they want that Viral Video everyone hears about. However, that can be difficult to do, so the more realistic option, would be to get your videos viewed consistently.

But how do you create Videos that get a high number of viewers on a consistent basis?

The first tip, be consistent with making and posting your videos to YouTube. The more Videos you post, the more content you get out to the viewers. The minimum amount I would post on YouTube is once a week, but if you can do it daily, or multiple times a week, you will reap the benefit of more views. However, posting a ton of videos to YouTube does not always get you more views. There is no point to have a bunch of videos out there that won’t rank high on YouTube.

Views will not get you to the top of YouTube, Video Optimization will, and that starts with your keywords.

Here is how you can get it started:

First, when uploading your Video, make sure you have it keyword optimized before you upload it (in the file name). You want your Keywords to be at the beginning of the title. For example, if I want to rank high on YouTube for the Keywords “Video Marketing Expert,” I want those keywords in the name of the video when I upload it, as well as the name of the title of the video. In addition, the title can consist of your Keywords more than once (if possible), and you can also use something that will catch viewers attention to follow. For example, “Video Marketing Expert…Reveal Marketing Secrets.”

Next, make sure you have an optimized description. Keyword Optimization will include your Title, tags, description, and dialog. Your description can include the URL to your website, or possibly a blog article you have, related to your You Tube Video. You want to use your Keywords as many times in your description, without making it seem obvious. A high quality, keyword optimized description is valuable. Under the description you can also add other URL’s you want to drive traffic to, such as blog postings, other YouTube videos, and your social media sites.

Also, include tags in the “tag” column of your video. The tags you create will be your main keyword, and other related keywords a person may search when looking for a video like yours. YouTube will also allow you to select a thumbnail from your video. They usually give you three thumbnails to choose from. Select the thumbnail that is the most inviting to your viewers, or what will catch their attention.

Adding all of these factors to each YouTube video you upload, will increase the ranking of your videos.
